Traveling Raconteur

Hola! Hope you're smiling :)

My Friend

Do you remember that beautiful, serene evening when after a tiring day, we headed to the beach just before sunset- you and I? Do you remember how the sea with its sweet waves welcomed us? How blessed we felt when the cool waters touched our feet? Do you remember my dear, dear friend that after several blissful moments in the sea, we returned to the warm sand and sat beside each other looking as far as the eye can see?

Do you remember us sitting there admiring the beauty of the sea, loving the laughter of people around us and being sweetly happy in that moment? And you broke that moment of silence with your magical words “look at the crows,” pointing your finger to that one wonderful crow that loved the sea too?

In that moment my dear friend, you showed me a sight I won’t forget too easily. A sight of this crow struggling against the wind and winning too. That moment and that crow defined life against adversity, pain and against all those powerful forces that bog us down each day. Do you remember what we realized then? That the crow loved what it was doing! Fighting, winning and living! And rising higher and higher when it had the strength in its wings and flying very low when it felt the strength drained out, but flying still, doing all it can possibly do.

How that crow loved himself, his life and the wind too -the wind it was fighting; for if there wasn’t the challenge there wasn’t victory. If there wasnt the wind, there wasnt the beautiful moment that two friends saw and will forever remember. A sight that is beautifully liberating.

I am the crow today.

Fighting An Additction

Not One MoreSeptember 12th, 2014
Addiction is a curse one allows upon one's self until it ceases to seek permission. I do not like the idea of a mind controlled by substance. If I can refrain for 30 days, I'd be very impressed with myself.
