Traveling Raconteur

Hola! Hope you're smiling :)

Beefeater

Ever since I watched them on Travel and Living, I have been fascinated with Beefeaters – imagine being paid to tell stories to people everyday!

Dichie D or as he signs the autographs that way was a delight. A terrific story teller with a brilliant diction, beautiful British accent thats crisp and clear, with a killer sense of humour and genuine affability.

Here’s a little bit of it

Dover told us many stories and all in a super interesting way but I will tell you here what he told us about why they are called ‘beefeaters.’ Centuries ago when people were hired to tell stories of the Tower to visitors, they were paid in meat for ‘beef’ was expensive to get. So they got a ration of beef in pay and hence the name beefeaters.

He continues ‘Considering our pay today, we should be called peanut eaters.’

It’s nice to have a favourite Beefeater so when I ever go back to London, I can look for him.

Fighting An Additction

Not One MoreSeptember 12th, 2014
Addiction is a curse one allows upon one's self until it ceases to seek permission. I do not like the idea of a mind controlled by substance. If I can refrain for 30 days, I'd be very impressed with myself.
