Traveling Raconteur

Hola! Hope you're smiling :)

An Email in Response to a Post Here

As I write this blog I don’t think so much about the readers for I always thought I had none but here’s Stan who wrote to me within hours of the latest posting. Stan is another wonderful person I know through Couchsurfing, never met in person. I was hoping to meet Stan in London as CS tells me that’s where he is originally based but Stan is working from another part of the world right now

Here’s a person I never met but was a constant support during my first trip abroad – sometimes it was because of his text messages that I checked things like my flight number a night before travelling and knew that the Dubai airport’s free wifi provider is ‘Maxspot’!

So here’s what Stan wrote…

Thanks for updating your blog. I like reading your posts, it also allows me to discover more about you like the Prince isn’t indifferent to you.. 🙂

When I was in India, I met many guys in their 20s whose dream is to head for a “developed” country, a place where everything is wonderful according to them.. True, we earn more there but also spend more, public hospitals are better equipped but doctors and nurses are human and make the same mistakes or neglect in the same way as anywhere else in the world.
Unfortunately, as you could discover, not everything is shiny there.. Unprivileged people still exist and live hidden from tourists..
When I’m asked about my opinions, I tend to suggest the person to get his/her opinion by himself/herself if he/she has the opportunity..
Media has a very important role. They are our eyes and ears somehow.. Many of us rely on them. Sadly many newspapers, magazines publish what readers want to see..
Thanks for sharing your experience in your blog, true to your heart. 🙂

By the way, tea or coffee this morning?

I am thrilled to exchange thoughts with Stan who has travelled the world and enlightens me with his own observations. About the tea or coffee? Umm, now I’d say some tea please 🙂

Fighting An Additction

Not One MoreSeptember 12th, 2014
Addiction is a curse one allows upon one's self until it ceases to seek permission. I do not like the idea of a mind controlled by substance. If I can refrain for 30 days, I'd be very impressed with myself.
