Traveling Raconteur

Hola! Hope you're smiling :)

The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society

Mood: Loved it from the start to the end and beyond and in love with Dawsey Adams, the farmer and Charles Lamb admirer. I thought much of this character. Wth each new letter from the members of The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society, I began a journey to Channel Islands, its history, the town with these people, of Mary and her German doctor husband. I tried to be a little bit of Mary myself and understood Juliet’s every emotion. I loved the stories of the little children but the story of a woman’s longing for soap lingers on my mind and makes me admire my life and its luxuries even more and with greater gratitude. Im afraid I will find myself unacceptably admiring any man who has read this book and loved it as much as I did and for any man who is a little bit like Dawsey Adams, even if he were to be a farmer but loves Lamb as much as Dawsey, Juliet and I do.

Post-Reading Thought: One of the best books I have ever read. Will recommend this strongly to any kind and sweet soul I know. If Im recommending this to you kindly know I love you.

Fighting An Additction

Not One MoreSeptember 12th, 2014
Addiction is a curse one allows upon one's self until it ceases to seek permission. I do not like the idea of a mind controlled by substance. If I can refrain for 30 days, I'd be very impressed with myself.
